Windows7 Update

Everything I'm hearing shows that Windows 7 is a winner! A common view is that Microsoft has finally got it right!
I'm still recommending that whatever you have now......"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" But, if you need to buy another computer, go with confidence to Windows 7.
I have upgraded now, and I've found usability features that I like. I have done a stand-alone version, so I can test my business desktop with Windows 7. I used an upgrade version, and will give you reports. It was a straight forward install, and runs Microsoft Office 2003 well. Performance is very good with 2 GB memory. I will update this shortly, with much more details.

If you are thinking of upgrading to Windows 7
Windows 7 Upgrades are much cheaper than the full edition. In the past I was always leery of upgrades, and would rather load a fresh copy. But with hard drive space being much more available, and the price difference consideration between Upgrades and Full Edition, I recommend using the upgrade, if you can.

Windows 7 Less Secure than Vista - This is a true statement about Windows 7. Overall security is good, but make sure that you have antivirus software. Microsoft Security Essentials is very good and free. Hopefully Microsoft will make some changes on Windows 7 to reinstate these warnings.
