Savvy Seniors
A national information service devoted to older Americans and the families who support them. They cover a very broad range of subjects especially for seniors, like the following article on No Paper Checks from Social Security.
Senior Journal
Their Claim: More Senior Citizens News and Information Than Any Other Source. This is another view on seniors, and definitely worth looking over. For example, see this article on an alternative to Nursing Homes.
AARP
Despite some negative publicity for AARP and their endorsement of Medical Programs in congress, AARP is still a major proponent of seniors. I am still a member, and take advantage of the discounts, and watch what they have to say, but I don't have to agree with them on everything, do I?
Suddenly Senior
Amusing, and many excellent links.
SeniorNet

An educational site, worth a look.
Internet Senior Success Center
Another bunch of links for seniors.
Speedtraps - State list
This is interesting. click on what ever state you want and then it will show the city or towns you want to view, click on which one you
see if you know any of them. You can see them in the cities in the U.S. or Canada. Very interesting. I have better ways to spend money, than to be trapped by cops out for the easy buck!
Message from Newt Gingrich I received this in an e-mail, and found it quite though provoking, though I have never been real fond of his politics. (Perhaps he's sort of a republican Nancy Pelosi???)
Church Group Hitting the Bottle!
This is cute and funny. It looks like a lot of fun!
Computer-Tips-Seniors
Identity Theft
This is a frequent concern for seniors. We are a vulnerable group, as we grew up when we were taught to be very trusting!
Many of us grew up when doors were not locked on our homes or cars! We grew up without computers, and many of us adapted to them very slowly. Check this out, to find out what is identity theft, and what can you do to protect yourself when using your PC! Identity Theft - PC
A quick a simple way to enlarge web pages you are reading. I've found it works with some other stuff too!.
Another Computer-Tips-Seniors, to make your make your computer easier to read is a larger monitor! You can buy a 22" Monitor for only $149.00! I'm using this Tiger Direct link as an example. I've bought a lot of stuff from them, and They are very good to deal with, and they generally have good prices. Before you buy a new monitor, read Buying a LCD Monitor to make sure you get the right one for you. I'm using a 22" LCD, and it makes everything easier to read.
Other Computer Alternatives
Many seniors get their computer from Dell. Best Buy, or other retailers. Then because of visual or hearing impairments, have difficulty using these computers. But, there are alternatives that are easier to use, see or hear. Check these out!
Computer-Tips-Seniors from Microsoft Ideas for improving you computer experience, while compensating for vision problems, hearing problems, etc.
Look for high speed connections at prices lower than some dialups.
You can use Verizon DSL for $19.99 per month plus those pesky taxes. And this is not just an introductory rate. The first month is even free. I am sure this will be duplicated by others soon if not already. It is fast, but they offer even faster at higher rates. I have used their service at both rates, and find NO difference in actual performance. The $19.99 service is more than enough for most users. With DSL, you can use your telephone, while you are on the internet!
There are a bunch of Websites-for-Seniors. Try some of these. If you have some sites to add, please let me know!
