Popular-Downloads
Popular downloads is a collection of the most useful and popular add-ons like Adobe Reader, Firefox, Microsoft Security Essentials. There are thousands of free (and "free trials") available in the internet. Many are much more trouble than they are worth! Those selected here I have used, or my customers have used, and they are worth looking at. If you have suggestions to add to these, then please contact me, and let me know!

Adobe's PDF reader is a commonly used program, and you will receive pdf files from time to time. You will need to download
a PDF Reader, and sometimes it is hard to find the Free one! Adobe sells a professional version also, but 99% of us do not need the pricey one!
The following link will get you the free one!
Foxit PDF Reader 3.0

Another free PDF type of program is called. I use this one, and it works great!
To put it gently, Adobe's free version is a real pain in the hindquarters. It's monstrously large, slow to load, and includes many features most users will hardly ever need. Foxit PDF Reader 3.0 kills the bloat and throws in some useful features, such as multimedia support and content-sharing options, while still allowing you to quickly access your PDFs.
I've been using Foxit for over a year, it is fast , more secure and compact, and it works great!

Then follow instructions for download. I recommend that you select to import from you Internet Explorer favorites, when given the option.
After, it is loaded, it will ask if you want Firefox to be your default browser, you should probably say No, until you are comfortable with Firefox.
Personally, I've found Firefox to work with all of my favorite websites, including my on-line banking. I also find it to be quite fast, and easy to use! It is my default browser.

I've selected downloads from CNET, as I'v had consistently good results. They are not always free, so watch for that.
My favorite Free Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware program.
My wife and create DVD's out of our picture file, add music and vary how the "slides" open. We can then send them to family and friends, to play on their TV or computer. This free tool does all this and more!
Download.CNET.com
CNET is my favorite source of downloads. They provide reasonably reliabe reviews, and CNET test each one, and give their recommendations. I've found these to be reasonably safe, and not always free. Good place to find a lot of utilities, programs, even games and music! |
