PC-Shutting-Off
reference: PC-Shutting-Off. PC overheating, cpu fan problem, power-supply overheating
Occasionally a PC will keep shutting off, And this is commonly caused by overheating. This can be dying/overheating Power Supply, or a failing CPU Fan.
Other causes could be a motherboard failure, or a chipset failure. Generally, these would require a PC technician, as you would need to open the case, to see if you can see the cause, and/or need to do mechanical work on your system.
Sometimes, you might be able to open the side of the case, and vacuum out the CPU fan. But, even to do this, you have to have a pretty good level of confidence that "You Can Do This!"
You can also consider replacing the fan. You can look in the TigerDirect CPU Fan link. To order a CPU cooling fan, you need to know the socket type (AMD is usually AM2 or AM#. Intel common types are socket 478 or 775, etc) Fans are cheap, but getting the right one is tricky. Call for professional help, if you are not sure.
