Computers and Seniors
Seniors are generally "Computer Novices." The difference between "Seniors" and other computer novices, is that "Seniors" know what they want to do with their computer, from their life experience, but they are often "intimidated" by their lack of computer experience. And that is why I've created this website section called "Computers and Seniors".
When I was teaching "Introduction to Computers", I found that seniors needed more familiarity with using keyboards and the mouse. So I taught using a simple process of playing Solitaire! I concentrated on teaching them to use the mouse to play the game. I also concentrated on watching their ability to use a mouse. In some cases, I recommended that they use a trackball instead. Particularly, if they were "shakey", and could not operate a mouse efficiently.
