Common-Interests-Seniors
There are a lot of Common-Interests-Seniors. We have a broad range of common interests. This section of the website is dedicated to helping you to find people with similar interests.
Powerpoint Presentation of Red Bull Hangars and planes
This is in Salzburg Austria, a beautiful collection of airplanse, cars, etc, takes maybe 30 sec to download.
Note: This opens as a Powerpoint Predentation - may be slow, and some may not be able to open a Powerpoint. But, this really good! To see a Powerpoint, you can download a free Powerpoint Viewer.
Senior Discounts! When I go to McDonalds, I always ask for my "Senior Drink or Coffee", but I should always ask for a senior discount everywhere -there are lots of them!

Golf Cart Communities

I have read a lot about the Villages in Florida, where they can use a Golf Cart to go anywhere within the community! This is actually an intriguing idea. Only one car, and lightly used at that. Charge your cart up at home, use it for just about everything! It's actually enough to draw some people to such a community. I've decided to put together a list of communities that provide this golf cart community capability.

When we retire, we often need some interest that is exciting, and/or fun. This activity is needed to replace that occupation that we had during our working years. You can volunteer to help with many activities, such as hospitals, church, and other volunteer activities. But you gotta have some fun!
Look at these project ideas. If you have any others, please send them to me to be added! retirement project ideas
Travel
Whole website are dedicated to common interests for seniors. We travel, because we finally can. Some will go on cruises, because they are so exciting. Some will travel the country, because there is so much to see. Some will travel overseas, because that is their dream, but they did not have time before. But in most cases, it is a quest for knowledge! We never stop learning, We yearn to know other people, other cultures, and to see what we have read about, or saw on television. We also travel to see family and friends.
>Social Networking
Seniors like to network with family and friends.
Thats a given. But some want to reach out and find people from the past. Some want to network with people of common interests. To find people with common interests, the internet is a great tool, check this out... .Seniors and Blogging - good read!. Joining groups, clubs and organizations is another great way to find people of common interests. For example, for RV'ers, RV caravans are very popular. For boaters, there are yacht clubs that are very inexpensive, because they do not have expensive clubhouses and marinas, but are in reality a social organization with common interests.. boating!
I've looked into this, and for me the idea is great, but too expensive. I want to use a boat a few times a year, but the cost would be way too high. I wish they could be available on a day by day rate, but you have to commit to a large initial payment, plus a hefty annual payment. But, as an alternative to buying a new boat, this is a very competitive solution.

Pacific Mariners Yacht ClubOne of the most popular types of clubs is Senior Travel Clubs. In many senior developments, they have travel clubs or groups, as well as Civic organizations arrange travel groups. There are also many available on the web. See link...

Making the World Better for their grandchildren
(ok, their children too, but they are so "bossy"!)
Seniors have a lifetime of experience, and some resources. They often wish to make the world better for their family. To do this, they may spend time with family, they may contribute toward education, or they make actually go out and "do something!"

Golf, Tennis, Sailing, and other sports
Okay, so we're old, but we ain't dead! We can do stuff, and now we finally have time! I'm a golfer, but not really good. But, I have fun at the game and the comradery is great! If I live long enough, maybe I can play a golf score, lower than my age! I'm always amazed at the competitive spirit of seniors!

Bridge
Bridge is a mind game. You can play for the comradery, for the competition, for the pure social aspect, whatever! But it is fun. I still love the game, even if I don't have much time for it! (Golf and all) There are other games that have a strong appeal, such as poker for the guys, etc. Surprisingly, I found games on cruise ships! Cool!
Pursuit of higher goals is a major draw for seniors. Time allows, and we have finally really begun to recognize the need for religious activities. As you mature, the more you understand the need for the loftier goals of life. We can finally give back some of what we have received. As we have mellowed, we recognize more that it is time for us to contribute more of ourselves. Do we do this out of fear of the end? Do we recognize how much we have received?
Do churches have activities for Seniors? Surprisingly, the answer is yes and no! Some churches emphasize young adults and their children, and therefore have less activity for seniors.
Many churches do have a range of activities for seniors. You need to have a discussion with your Minister, Priest or Rabbi. Ask them about activites for seniors.
To find senior activites may require looking outside of your own church. You have local Senior Centers, and many times you will see activities in the newspaper. Many church groups organize groups of Seniors to travel together. These church groups often welcome members from other churches.

Here's one --- 789 Chevy!

This picture was taken by James Vernacotola and sent to me by a friend. It was taken in Ponte Vedra from the top of the 210 bridge crossing the intracoastal looking south towards St, Augustine and Cape Canaveral.
He got up very early and took this picture of the last nighttime space shuttle launch and was kind enough to share with his co-workers and whomever else would appreciate the beauty of the space launch.
He took the picture using a tri-pod and the elapsed time for the picture was several minutes in order to get the full fire-trail (this is why the stars are little lines instead of dots).
