About-Us

The goal of this web site is to provide free help for the PC novice, a broad spectrum of help for Seniors, and humor!

  • What to do for common computer problems
  • To make informed decisions whether to fix their PC, upgrade it, or just buy a new PC
  • Provide "How To" tips to make your PC easier to use.
  • Coverage on what you can do with a PC, (from my Introduction to Computers class.
  • Have incorporated a "Computers & Seniors" section
  • I can't help it - I love humor! So I make constant updates with good humor!

I am asking for your inputs! Send me good humor, some interesting questions about computer troubles you want to solve, or possibly some interesting stuff for seniors!

I own a computer repair business, and service small businesses, home office businesses, and a lot of personal home computers. Many of my customers are seniors, and have a very limited knowledge of computers. I get a lot of questions, and use this website to answer many of these questions. I sincerely hope these tips save you money on "do-it-yourself" fixes. I also love to see my customers learn something new that they can do with a computer, so that's why I spend so much time on desktop publishing, photo-editing and such. I love to sign on in the morning and get my new jokes, and other inspirational stuff. All the good stuff, I put on my website. I hope you like it.

Most web site that you find that are supposed to help you diagnose problems on your PC are really designed to sell you a product! And, to make matters worse, they don't fix you problem. My goal is to provide you valuable advice, where you can save money! But, I don't expect you to be a computer "guru"!

Please be very careful about buying "Registry Cleaners", or "Utility Suites", or any other program that is supposedly "Easy" and fixes everything! I've seen many, and have read war stories about poor quality, lack of technical support. and especially inability to get refunds!

If I ever recommend a program, I will have tried it first, and verified it to be easy to use. I have a number of utilities that I use, not so free, definitely not "easy", but most importantly, they do work. The general rule of thumb is, they will take your money, and you may get something, but don't expect much, and it is not going to be easy, and you will probably not get a refund.

As far as professional assistance( as a Computer Servicer), my policy is to be honest and helpful. I can recover most data at a modest cost, and I won't recommend a repair, if a new or refurbished PC is a better choice (and I generally do not sell computers!). Saving my customers money is my goal. If any repair facility on my website gives you poor service, or treats you unfairly, please let me know, and I will check it out, and remove the link, if that is the right thing to do.

The Computers and Seniors section of my site, will emphasize unique situations that seniors have to deal with. As we age, some of our motor skills have become problematical. But, seniors also have a wealth of experience, and a huge diversity of interests. This section will address these areas.

Most of all, the quality of this website can best be enhanced with your input and feedback! Please send me your recomendations and comments!
